I recently took my car to Mercedes-Benz North Orlando in Sanford for routine maintenance—oil change, tire rotation, the usual. When I dropped it off, everything seemed fine; the car ran smoothly, no odd noises, just a vehicle in need of a tune-up.
But when I returned to pick it up, I was greeted by an awful sound that hadn’t been there before. It was unmistakable, and it started the moment I drove off the lot.
Confused, I went back to the service department to ask what happened. The dealership’s response? They claimed the car sounded like that when I brought it in. That’s simply not true— I’d never heard anything like it until after their service. The service department manager then told me I should have complained about the noise when I dropped the car off.
This made no sense. Why would I mention a problem that didn’t exist? My car was there for maintenance, not repairs.
Things got worse. The service department manager started twisting my words, saying I’d told him the car “sounded worse”—implying it was already in bad shape when I arrived. I never said that. It felt like a deliberate attempt to shift blame onto me. The real kicker? After I’d already paid for the maintenance, they told me I’d need to shell out even more to fix this new issue—an issue that only appeared after they worked on my car.
I’m not a mechanic, but I know my vehicle. I trusted Mercedes-Benz North Orlando in Sanford to keep it running smoothly, not to send me home with a problem they caused and then charge me to fix it. This wasn’t just poor service—it was dishonest. I’m left wondering how many others have faced similar treatment.
For now, I’m out the cost of maintenance and stuck with a car that’s worse off than when I brought it in. If you’re considering Mercedes-Benz North Orlando in Sanford, think twice. I wish I had.
