How is it fair that Florida’s legal system allows trial lawyers to cover up the true cost of medical procedures and win overblown injury claims in court?

I am a small business owner, and I know that workplace injuries and other accidents are to be expected from time to time. However, what I can’t understand is why I must pay higher insurance premiums because bad actors in our legal system are getting away with fraud?
Of course, these types of issues will never make major headlines these days, so our politicians allow this to continue unchecked. Meanwhile, we are stuck paying some of the highest insurance premiums in the country.
Because Florida insurers now know these shady tactics are commonplace here, they must continually raise their rates to offset costs, while small business owners like me are stuck with the bill. As a result, we must either raise prices on consumers, lay off workers, or cut back operations.
While the lawyers exploit the system to get rich, hardworking families, businesses, and the communities we serve all get left behind.
We are all feeling the pain of record inflation and a choppy post-COVID economy. Now seems like the perfect time to ease financial burdens on Florida families and businesses.
Reforming the accuracy in injury claims would be a great place to start.
