Lakeland’s Shoemaker Appointed To UCF Community Schools Board

Ed Shoemaker has been named to serve on the UCF Center for Community Schools Advisory Board.

Shoemaker is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and owner of Mr. Ed’s Family & Education Intervention Services, Inc. located at 4406 S. Florida Ave., Suite 28, Lakeland, Florida 33813. This newly formed Advisory Board will meet quarterly to share ideas, provide support, and lend expertise to help broaden the impact of the Center in advancing community schools in Florida, nationally and globally.

Shoemaker has previously been a candidate for congress and school board in the Central Florida area, while continuing his community outreach activities aimed at improving all levels of our educational system in Florida. The UCF Center for Community Schools is a comprehensive resource for the development of high-quality community schools.

Their four focus areas include technical assistance, university assisted partnership, training and development, and assessment and evaluation. Recently, the Center was recognized as the first International Hub for global community school advancement by the International Center of Excellence in Community Schools (ICECS).
