Sturgill Strikes Back, Launches “Liberal Mike Miller” Ad

The Sanford businessman’s campaign is countering State Representative Mike Miller’s attack offensive with an ad of their own.

In the vane of a 90’s era action figure commercial, Scott Sturgill is labeling his opponent as “Liberal Mike Miller” in a new ad.

Complete with cheesy sound effects and visuals, the ad features an actual action figure made to match Miller’s likeness which is weirdly accurate. It slams the state representative for railing against President Trump in 2016, where he went as far as calling Trump a “con-artist” according to a Florida Politics article.

Scott Plakon, Mike Miller denounce Donald Trump, call for support for Marco Rubio

Miller was a member of the Never Trump movement as he helped his former boss Marco Rubio in the dying days of his failed campaign by holding rallies and fundraisers in Central Florida.

The Orlando Sentinel reported last month that both Sturgill and Miller are embracing Trump in their campaign messaging, though Miller is the only one with an extensive record of slamming the President and continuing to align with leaders in the Never Trump movement in his current bid for congress.

Sturgill’s out-of-the-box ad concept also hits Miller for voting to continue funding Planned Parenthood in the Florida House, where he was one of only three Republicans to do so.

Abigail Hirn, Sturgill’s communications director, told us that the ad will be part of their “substantial” buy on Fox News primetime and will be used in direct mail efforts as well.

“Liberal Mike Miller is the very definition of a career politician. Way before he was ever elected, Liberal Mike has had a long history of being part of the swamp. His votes to protect Planned Parenthood and refering to President Trump as a con artist show exactly where he stands on the issues.”

Sturgill was recently endorsed by longtime Trump confidante Roger Stone and just released an immigration plan that promises to make illegal immigrants pay for the border wall.

He is also backed by former Congresswoman Sandy Adams, Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez Cantera, and Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma.
