Well-known Central Florida Trump activists who had initially supported Ron DeSantis’ bid for Governor of Florida are now officially endorsing and supporting Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam’s quest to become Governor.

DeSantis has been exposed for his connections to George Soros and a vote for food stamps for illegal immigrants by this publication over the past few months.

According to a release sent out by Orange County for Trump 2016 Chairman Randy Ross, who Chairs the Trump 2020 Club to support the Presidents re-election efforts, Ross and notable Trump boosters Leland McKee and Chris Comins will host Putnam at a private home next week.

The host committee also includes several Republican Party activists and elected officials: State Representative Bob Cortes, Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn, Apopka Mayor Bryan Nelson, and State Representatives Scott Plakon and Rene Plasencia. Former Orange County Commissioner Scott Boyd is also on the host committee.

Ross told the Central Florida Post that he waited patiently for Congressman DeSantis’ to show signs of life or any activity within the state of Florida, but after months saw absolutely no movement

“While some suggested Trump supporters should back DeSantis, I personally found that pushy approach unflattering.  One thing we know about Trump supporters is they think independently. Behind the scenes, many people feel as I do that Commissioner Putnam is the right candidate for Florida.

I hope Congressman DeSantis would either stay in his current role or consider vying for the VA job. So, for me, the clear choice is to go with Commissioner Putnam.”

Longtime lobbyist and GOP advisor Bertica Cabrera Morris is also on the host committee and referred to the event as a “great show of unity.”

“This is a great show of unity among activists and party faithful in Central Florida. Adam is a leader who we can trust to rise to the occasion and understand what Floridians need.”

The reception has limited space and will be held at the home of Christopher Comins. You can RSVP by calling 863-660-5159.
