Weeks after Congressman Darren Soto’s wife was arrested for public intoxication at Disney Springs, new information is revealed.

The full police report describing exactly what happened between Darren Soto’s wife Amanda and her mother at Disney Springs has been obtained by the Central Florida Post.
As reported by the Orlando Sentinel and other media outlets, Amanda Soto was holding her mother “by the straps of the backpack” she was wearing in an attempt to keep her from walking away.
Soto was eventually arrested and booked the evening of April 1st. Ms. Soto famously reminded the deputies several times that her husband was a Congressman and that she could do “whatever she wanted.”
While many things about the Soto family outing to Disney Springs have remained in question over the past few weeks, the official report obtained by CFP provides many new details.

For instance, Soto attempted to get home in an Uber with the help of deputies, only to be refused service for shouting “I don’t need you to fucking question me bitch” at the driver when she asked Ms. Soto where she would like to go.
After the news broke, Congressman Soto shared that his wife had stopped her “treatment program” and that she had recently stopped taking her medications. According to the report, however, it seems that Mr. Soto himself was involved in the day of boozing with his wife and Mother.
Conveniently, the Congressman has neglected to mention this fact, instead painting the incident a direct result of his wife’s deteriorating mental health, of which he had not part.
Amanda Soto’s full and recently released statement to the police reveal that Congressman Soto was in fact with his wife and Mother on Sunday, April 1st, the night of the arrest.
Our sources also suggest that Congressman Soto himself had consumed several alcoholic beverages, before leaving his intoxicated wife and Mother alone to “fend for themselves.”

Look, we have all been here at least once in our life, or will be at some point. You go out with family or friends and drink a little too much. Sometimes you have a great time and sometimes things get heated.
I’m not begrudging Conressman Soto for enjoying himself on a Sunday night, that would be hypocritical. However, acting as if he was a million miles away and not culpable in the drunken dispute between his wife and mother is simply not cool and untrue.
Just last July, Soto staffer Cecilia Cruz was arrested for drunk driving after she struck a motorcyclist on SR 417 following a work event. This would seem to suggest Soto is either allowing a culture of intoxication on the job influence his personal life, or vice versa.
Soto, a backbench Democrat even out shadowed by the lackluster Stephanie Murphy, is now caught in a tough primary with former Congressman and progressive wildman Alan Grayson.
The Central Florida Post was the first to report the fact that Grayson would mount another comeback bid by primarying Soto, months before the mainstream media.
