The devil is truly in the details for those pimping an Oprah 2020 presidential bid against Donald Trump. After days of endless droning from mainstream media outlets and establishment forces, the Central Florida Post is now able to provide the world with the cold hard facts.
Donald Trump in the must-win state of Florida, according to our poll conducted by Dixie Strategies of 785 likely voters, would trounce Oprah Winfrey.
How bad? President Donald Trump would win with a whopping 47.91% to Winfrey’s 23.95%, with a theoretical third party candidate getting 14.83% and 13.31% of voters undecided.
Brian Graham, a managing partner of Dixie Strategies, said Trump still has a solid hold on his base of supporters.
“Donald Trump continues to hold his base of supporters, while it appears Floridians are not viewing Oprah as a serious candidate.”
Trump not only retains very favorable views from 70% of Republicans in the must-win state of Florida, he also maintains a higher favorability across party lines. President Trump is viewed as “very favorable” by 42.42% of voters, while Oprah is viewed “very favorable” by only 25.87% of Florida voters.
When those 25.87% of Winfrey supporters were asked about her close personal relationship with Harvey Weinstein, nearly 45% of her supporters said it would make them less likely to support her candidacy.
“It’s still very early, and with any potential candidate, circumstances can change. If Oprah were to run for office, she likely would become even more controversial, and may harm her own business interests,” Graham concluded.
Dixie Strategies showed Trump accurately winning the state of Florida just prior to the election, and also showed Trump beating Clinton in Texas while the majority of pollsters claimed Hillary Clinton could not be stopped.
“Dixie Strategies’ history of accuracy is largely due to our methodology. We use algorithms that utilize previous turnout statistics and tracking polling that measures current trends. Our software allows us to conduct polls completely without human bias. This methodology allowed our polling to accurately reflect the 2016 presidential election.” – Jon Woodard, also a Managing Partner, Dixie Strategies.
Also asked of likely voters statewide? Whether they would vote for Rick Scott or Bill Nelson in the upcoming US Senate election.
Longtime Democratic Senator Bill Nelson leads with 37.86% of voters, compared to 35.09% leaning towards Republican Governor Rick Scott. 27.04% remain undecided.
Trump confidante Roger Stone said that Scott’s weak performance leaves an opening for a wild-card candidate to challenge the Florida Governor in the GOP primary.
“Hulk Hogan has a clear opening, and I’d like to see a head-to-head matchup between him and Scott in future polling. If Democrats continue to view Oprah as their savior, they aren’t paying much attention. As I have said, President Trump’s base will remain extremely loyal as long as he keeps faith with the Make America Great Again Agenda.”
