Richard Corcoran’s Trump Bashing Past Will Haunt Potential Run For Governor

The Speaker of the Florida House and potential gubernatorial candidate was never firmly on the Trump Train.

On the long road to the Republican nomination for Governor in 2018, many who fancy themselves leaders within the Florida GOP will try to earn the support of President Donald Trump.

At face value, some might say that Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran would be the leading contender for a Trump nod.

He has slashed film incentives and entitlement spending. He runs the capitol with a no holds barred mentality. However, for Trump loyalists, Corcoran’s status as a leader of the #NeverTrump movement should worry them.

During the heat of the 2016 campaign, it was Corcoran who referred to Trump as “repugnant, not a credible conservative, and someone with questionable character,” according to Florida Politics.

When Republicans were supposed to be rallying around their nominee at the Republican National Convention, it was Corcoran who was still sowing seeds of doubt.

He openly bragged that Trump was not his first, second, or third choice. Corcoran was a top Jeb Bush booster, a betrayal that the President should not forget when Mr. Corcoran comes calling for his support.

While he positions himself as a “principled conservative” and has raised millions though his Watchdog PAC for a prospective bid for Governor, Trump loyalists should ask… what about the President’s policies does Corcoran not agree with?

The commitment to building the wall, taking on the deep state, upending the two-party duopoly of corruption in DC?

We likely won’t get an honest answer from this typical Bush loving political operative turned politician.

He is a member of the political deep state collective that worked feverishly to stop Trump from saving our the world from the horrors of another Bush/Clinton disaster.

Corcoran might have millions now and millions more before he makes a decision. He has a statewide network of donors and operatives.

What happens when the conservative activists around the state find out about Corcorans carefully hidden Anti-Trump past?

All the money the money in this realm and the next will not save Richard Corcoran from the wrath of President Trump and his supporters.

His allegiance is to the Bush clan, the deep state, and the political establishment.

Even worse for Corcoran? Imagine when Trump BFF Rick Scott dishes on Corcoran’s yet to be released Trump-hating rants in the state capitol.

My birds tell me wild stories of Corcoran’s ambitions and Monroe Street yearnings for what could have been with President Jeb Bush, or even President Hillary Clinton.

Word of advice to Richard Corcoran? Prepare to bend the knee when summoned North to answer for your crimes against President Trump.

Gaining the support of House Trump and our bannerman will mean nothing less than a full-throated apology for your involvement in undermining our Protector of the Realm.

Even that might not be enough.
