Florida Libertarians Rally In Cocoa Beach This Weekend

Non-Intervention At The Libertarian Convention

By Patrick Jude

Libertarians – the right-wingers you can spark a Dutchie with. Far cooler than their Evangelical counterparts, they are much more lax on social issues. Ironically though, they’re often dismissed as the crazies, the “tin-hatters” if you will, or idealists who haven’t got a shot.

Though I’m as left as it gets, still Bernin’, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. With that being said, the Libertarian Party of Florida is gearing up for their annual convention in the sunny city of Cocoa Beach. While we may disagree on a number of issues, we truly can agree on a whole lot.

For those wanting to know more about what being a Libertarian means, Penn Jillette has you covered.

So get ready for three days of non-intervention, freedom of religion and not caring if two dudes get married!

May 5th – 7th, 2017 are the set dates for the event, to be held at the International Palms Resort. Business meetings are scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday, and are totally free to visitors.

The convention boasts a massive list of extras, however, for those who wish to expand their visit past party business.

Various guest speakers will be flying in from across the country, and will deliver their remarks to a well-fed audience during breakfast, lunch or dinner banquet hours. The grub is looking pretty damn good, just saying.

These speaker events, offered as a package or individually, will surely enrich attendees, and undoubtedly serve as great conversation points while making your way around the convention.

Acclaimed author of McCain: The Myth of a Maverick, Matt Welch, should get the crowd going. With over twenty years of experience in various avenues of writing, Welch has become a voice for Libertarians everywhere, and you now have a chance to hear that voice…with lunch!

Ayn Rand devotee, Lauren Rumpler, will be hosting a speaking event over breakfast. A prominent exemplification of Libertarian identity, Rumpler often expresses her ideas with Eastern practices such as meditation and martial arts. Rumpler believes that efficiency of the mind is necessary for an optimal reality, and ultimately success.

Former Libertarian VP nominee, Larry Sharpe, will also be speaking about success as he takes the stage for an event over brunch. Having trained countless entrepreneurs and executives, it’s safe to say you may learn a thing or two from one of the biggest names in the party.

Leave it to the Libertarians to put on an easy-going beach weekend, and the weather is projected to be perfect! Be sure to visit the official website to book your speaking events and remember… taxation is theft!
