Chris Christie Is Weak On Islam & Wrong For New Hampshire

The Governor would do well to take heed of General Patton’s maxim, “In war the only sure defense is offense, and the efficiency of the offense depends on the warlike souls of those conducting it.”

At the turn of the 20th Century Winston Churchill wrote, “Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science…. the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”

Almost half a century later General George S. Patton made the observation, “To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammad and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly as he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing” Fast forward to 2011 in New Jersey when Governor Chris Christie nominated Sohail Mohammed to a state judgeship. The nomination created a firestorm of opposition and outrage and when confronted with this Christie responded, “Ignorance is behind the criticism of Sohail Mohammed.”

The criticism of Mohammad did not stop however — fears which included what type of judge would Mohammad be on the bench and would he try to infuse Sharia law — and Christie, ever the type-A Jersey boy, fed up with all of it declared, “This Sharia law business is just crap. It’s just crazy, and I’m tired of dealing with the crazies.”

A few inconvenient truths about Mr. Mohammad that Governor Christie had to have known but ignored were that Mr. Mohammed represented a radical cleric linked to Hamas that the Department of Homeland Security wanted to deport from the country. Additionally, while defending Muslims accused of plotting a terrorist attack against Fort Dix, Mohammad objected to the use of the term “militant Islam” in the government’s case and equating actions to religion.

Chris Christie was the US Attorney at that time leading the government’s prosecution. So it should be no surprise that Governor Christie was honored by CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) for fighting back against perceived “Islamophobia” by nominating Mohammad to the bench. CAIR is the same organization which the FBI believes has ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood and, after the terrorist shooting in San Bernardino, held a press conference in support of the dead terrorists.

Christie’s warmth for Islam seems to have no bounds, “We cannot paint all of Islam with that brush. We can’t paint all of Islam with the Muhammad Atta brush. We have to bring people together.” Surely Governor Christie is aware that Muslims do not assimilate into their communities as other immigrants have done throughout the history of the United States.

They do not do it here and they have not done it in Europe either. Ask the French about their Muslim problem. It is not clear if it is malfeasance and ignorance or there is a more nefarious motivation by Governor Christie to stake out the position he has on Islam as a religion and individual Muslims such as Sohail Mohammad. But what is clear is that his decision making is wrong and imprudent for a potential president.

As a former federal prosecutor of terrorists one would assume the Governor is familiar with the Quran? Specifically, 48:28 and 29 in which it states, “It is He (Allah) who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion and, “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.” From one Jersey boy to another – talk is cheap — and Governor Christie has mastered the art of being a big blow hard bully. But underneath all the bravado and tough talk is someone who doesn’t get it when it comes to Islam.

The Governor would do well to take heed of General Patton’s maxim, “In war the only sure defense is offense, and the efficiency of the offense depends on the warlike souls of those conducting it.” Chris Christie is weak on Islam. He is wrong for New Hampshire and wrong for America.
