Frank Torres is reporting on his Florida Politics blog that state house candidate Maurice “Mo” Pearson has secured the endorsements of State Senator Alan Hays, State Representative Jason Brodeur, State Representative Ritch Workman, and State Representative David Santiago. (Full Story HERE)
Pearson secured endorsements from Orange County Commissioners Scott Boyd, Fred Brummer, and Jennifer Thompson last week. He is running in a Republican primary for state house district 47, which is currently represented by former Orange County Commissioner Linda Stewart. Pearson faces Eric Arroyo and Frank Caprio in the Republican primary.
Several weekends ago, we reported that Pearson had been stopped by the Orlando Police Department whil campaigning in his own neighborhood. The officer, who we are told is a 10 year veteran of the force and linked to Orlando City Commissioner Tony Ortiz. Political campaigning along with religion and issues of free speech are exempt from Florida’s solicitation laws. More on that story HERE.
