“Christmas” In October For Dems As “Textgate” Defendant Files For 2014

Scandal ridden Orange County Commissioner Jennifer Thompson has filed for re-election to her East Orlando commission seat according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Thompson who was recently fined by the State Attorney for destroying public records by deleting text communiqués with a top Disney lobbyist, apparently cannot read the writing on the wall.

Aside from being in hot water over breaking the law surrounding the controversial sick time vote, Thompson has also faced heat in the district for her mishandling of several road construction projects and lack of meaningful focus on local non-corporate improvements in East Orlando.

Timber Creek High School teacher Sean Ashby, who is challenging Thompson on the Democratic line told the East Orlando Post that it’s like “Christmas” in October.

“Jennifer Thompson has repeatedly betrayed the trust of voters, has been found guilty of breaking the law, and is costing the taxpayers thousands of dollars because of the current civil suit spawned from her illegal communication with a Disney lobbyist. East Orlando deserves better.”

A local republican party insider wasn’t shocked to hear that Thompson had filed for re-election, but wished she had bowed out to clear the field for a less “tainted” candidate.

“We all love Jennifer, but it’s pretty clear this race is not winnable with her as our candidate. She just fulfills the stereotype voters have of Republicans. How do we sell this “fat cat” business insider who is more concerned with what lobbyists think to the average middle class voter?”

First quarter fundraising reports will be made available to the public in the coming weeks, so stay tuned as we will FOLLOW THE MONEY to find out just who is behind each candidate in this race.
