GrayRobinson Hosts Community Leaders Forum On Major League Soccer

Interesting update from GrayRobinson about their recent Community Leader Forum that they hosted focused on the benefits of bringing MLS to Orlando —

ORLANDO, Fla. – June 24, 2013 – The Orlando office of GrayRobinson P.A. welcomed more than 100 leaders from across the community to join Orlando City Soccer President Phil Rawlins and Owner Flávio Augusto da Silva in a discussion on the local economic benefits of securing a place for the team in Major League Soccer (MLS).

“The economic benefits of bringing an international sport to our city are endless,” said Augusto da Silva. “Orlando has everything that MLS fans are looking for in a tourist destination – and with the recruitment of top player talent once we’re a part of the league – eyes across the world will be on us.”

Rawlins and Augusto da Silva both spoke on the increased tourism traffic from Brazil – one of the league’s most popular countries – that the city would capitalize on with the expansion to MLS.

“We can offer an experience here in Orlando that fans just can’t get in Brazil,” said Augusto da Silva.

They also shared their confidence in the team’s growth during the past few years and how that has made this opportunity one that’s been difficult for MLS to turn away from despite the challenges with building a new stadium.

“This is our time,” said Orlando City Soccer President Phil Rawlins. “The MLS wants us and we are going to make this happen. With your commitment, we’ll build great things for this city and the state of Florida.”
