Over the next couple of weeks, we will be featuring stories on local summer camps and uploading a directory of local camps taking place this summer. That list will be posted later this week. First up is MBS Training Club. Below is a Q&A with MBS Training Club founders Marlon & Christina Jones —
What is MBS Training Club?
Mind Body Soul Training Club is a non-profit organization that supports students and athletes with their academics, sports, and fitness goals. We provide a variety of tutoring services that include intervention, homework help, standardized testing prep, enrichment, and support tailored to the student’s specific need. We also provide sports performance training programs that are designed to help athletes reach their full potential in their specific sport. Our fitness programs are customized to fit each individual’s specific need and help prevent childhood obesity. All of our tutors and trainers are experienced, highly qualified, and/or certified professionals that are passionate about supporting the youth-mind, body, and soul.
How did MBS start?
MBS Training Club started during the summer of 2011 after founders Marlon and Christina Jones decided to put their hearts and passions together to create a tutoring/sports performance program together for the youth in Avalon Park. Christina was a teacher for thirteen years and understands the everyday busy life of a teacher and parent. Marlon, having always been involved in the sports and personal training industry, understands how important it is to help our youth stay active. Today, they are both pouring their hearts into the lives of our youth in the Avalon Park Community. Christina says, “It’s rewarding every time I run into a student in our community that I taught years ago and they tell me they are in college or graduating from high school and going on to college.” Marlon added, “I wasn’t fortunate enough as a child playing sports to have resources like this, so I really enjoy inspiring children to visualize their dreams and go after them.” Both Marlon and Christina say they just want to give back to our youth. The couple gives credit to God alone for the achievements of MBS Training Club. Their business has seen growth and success beyond what they could have imagined.
Tell us why your summer camp would be a good choice for both parents and kids —
Our camps are fun-filled learning camps where kids are actively engaged by coaches who are motivating, positive, and passionate about teaching kids how to create goals for themselves. The coaches teach the kids how to achieve their goals by helping them see the life-long values and positive outcomes of hard work and dedication. MBS Training Club has a reputation of being a very professional and organized company that truly cares for the heart of the child.
