Last week I talked about the importance of using as many organic and all natural ingredients as you can find and afford. This week I’ll talk about the importance of sticking with a brand that works for you.
Not every brand works for everyone, or every recipe. Which is why there are so many out there to choose from. Through trial and error, you can find which brands will work with your recipes, and which ones won’t. And remember, just because the bags all say ‘Organic Flour’, doesn’t mean that they’ll all perform or taste the same. Once you find a brand that you like (or fall in love with), stick with it! That way the Chocolate Chip Cookie that everyone raved over, and said was the best one they’d ever tasted, will be exactly the same the next time they need one. (Yes, sometimes you do need a Chocolate Chip Cookie!) If you’re trying new brands out, keep a list of which ones you’ve tried, and whether or not you’d like to try them again. That way you won’t waste time trying a brand out twice, especially if you didn’t like it the first time. And you might want to do a little research before you hit the store. A little time to read reviews goes a long way.
As I mentioned last week, in this weekly article I’m going to pass on a tip that works for me. I don’t claim to know it all, and would love to hear from you with both questions and comments.
Have a great week and happy baking!!
