The East Orlando Post is proud to be working alongside the Early Learning Coalitions of Orange and Osceola to promote their “First 5 Years” gala that will be held on June 22nd at the World ShowPlace Pavilion at Epcot. We got a chance to speak with Nancy James of the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County to find out more about the event and the Q&A is below —
What do the Early Learning Coalitions of Orange and Osceola provide to the community?
The Coalitions are committed to ensuring that all children enter school ready to learn. We coordinate services to ensure families in Orange County have access to quality, affordable early care and education services for their children.
Who is sponsoring the Gala?
We are thankful to have so many wonderful sponsors. From Disney to Lady Bird Academy, our sponsors are a very diverse group of businesses and local organizations. Here is the full list; Disney, Florida Hospital, Orlando Health, Darden, Charles Schwab, Century Link, OUC, Nemours, Bright Start, UCF, Universal, Heart of Florida United Way, Orlando Magic, Suntrust, Lady Bird Academy, IPRG Inc, Seaworld, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, CenterState Bank, and Rufus Barfield & Associates.
How can people purchase tickets to the Gala?
They can do so by visiting our website. Even if you cannot attend, you can still become a sponsor, make a donation of any amount, or contribute to the silent auction.
What happens to the money raised?
The funds raised will help us to provide affordable, safe, and reliable early care and education services throughout Orange and Osceola counties to children ages birth to 5 years. For every dollar raised during this event, we will receive $15.67 in return!
